Special Collections using Augmented Reality to Enhance Learning and Teaching
The SCARLET project aims to use Augmented Reality to allow students simultaneously to experience the magic of original materials, whilst enhancing the learning experience by 'surrounding' the object with digitised content: images, texts, online learning resources and information on related objects held in the Library and elsewhere.

Library intend to continue to use tool assuming pilot successful - so life beyond the end of the funding period.

Outputs made available via project website - will be able to track downloads, etc - use wordpress so can track blog dissemination also.

Related project: the Manchester Digital Dante Project, 2009-10 - a British Academy funded project to digitise three culturally significant editions of Dante's /Divine Comedy/ held in the Special Collections of the JRUL.
