For organisational reasons the project had to extract itself from using Drupal into a stand alone thing

Static collection with dynamic search sown in using XPert and other sources
Posted by johnr at 2011-08-23 14:56:58
Likely content formats: MS Office, DOM, RTF, PDF, GIF, JPEG, PNG, AVI, MPEG, DivX WM Video, QuickTime, MP3

Approach of juxtaposing OERs with best-of-breed closed content
Posted by johnr at 2011-01-24 14:01:10
sustainability: under discussion with wider HEA community

content from JourmOpen via Xpert but may try separate search via JorumOpen api for richer access
Posted by johnr at 2011-01-24 13:56:41
Xpert API has developed really well - consequently it's richer and more complex to interface with- this is taking a little more time than anticipated
Posted by johnr at 2011-01-24 13:55:01
Uses xpert api for dynamic collection but api has quantity rather than quality of metadata
Posted by johnr at 2011-01-24 13:53:53
Custom PHP and mySQL backend with drupal
Posted by johnr at 2011-01-24 13:52:53
also pulling in information via api from other sources eg -image from flickr to illustrate materials being retrieved
Posted by johnr at 2011-01-24 13:50:52
Geospatial view is an experiment (may also use Edina's Unlock service (as is GEES))
Posted by johnr at 2011-01-24 13:50:09
Interface/ portal is a search interface - compares to static collection and dynamic search via xpert present both search results in a page. also creating geospatial interface.
Posted by johnr at 2011-01-24 13:47:00
Using established metadata set and taxonomies but with some extensions
Posted by johnr at 2011-01-24 13:45:19
Hoping to use fewer rather than more standards
Posted by johnr at 2011-01-24 13:44:28
More speculative real time search alongside this
Posted by johnr at 2011-01-24 13:44:09
Rich metadata for static resources
Posted by johnr at 2011-01-24 13:42:08
Also working with XPert
Posted by johnr at 2011-01-07 14:20:09
Seeking to use (and help develop if applicable) APIs for existing discovery services.
Posted by johnr at 2011-01-07 14:17:33
Static collection - 1st yr materials from: "significant OER nodes such as JorumOpen, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Open Courseware and OpenLearn and recent JISC/HEA projects but also from other smaller independent sources of OERs."
