Project Details:
Attribute Images
The project will create a tool that allows users to upload images (singly or in bulk), select a Creative Commons licence and specify the name of the copyright holder, publication date and a URL. The tool will then embed a licence attribution statement in the image. It will allow users to save the image(s) locally in various sizes and also embed images within PowerPoint. To maximise sharing and discoverability, the tool will facilitate uploading the newly attributed images to Flickr. It will also provide an API, enabling others to include the attribution functionality in other websites. The tool will be available as an extenion to the current Xpert Attribution service ensuring a defined user group is reached, but will also be decoupled from Xpert allowing it to be used in other contexts.
