CABLE is a partnership project between a HEI and a commercial provider of distance learning. As the demand for online learning grows so to will the delivery of provision by concurrent providers. Partnership working will help us to develop a model fit for future purpose and in tune with models of future delivery. The focus of our interventions will be in the following areas: * Pre-enrolment: Pre-application; Application; Pre-registration * Post-enrolment: Registration; Induction; Early retention interventions; Personalised programme planning Through CABLE, the partners will explore the environmental impact of prototype and pilot projects, the benefit of shared services, and identify barriers to implementation and change management issues around the implementation of innovative practices where more than one institution is involved. Data protection issues will be addressed and appropriate processes put in place to ensure both partners address the legal and ethical requirements around the creation, management and disposal of information. A key outcome of the project will be improved data management and reporting to allow intelligence to be analysed, used in the decision making process and acted upon for the benefit of both the students and the institutions. The project will explore how successful current methods of interaction and communication are in promoting engagement in the learning process and with the wider institutional communities. It is then envisaged that prototype interventions and processes will be developed and tested to determine which new strategies should be taken onto a larger pilot stage, feeding back to management in order to determine further pilots or implementation.
