KUBE

Kingston Uplift for Business Education
This project aims to develop and evaluate models of good practice in using technology to transform the teaching, learning and assessment in higher-level business education delivered at Kingston College in partnership with Kingston University. It will involve supporting learners through the use of interactive online resources; enriching learning and teaching through the use of mobile technology; extending the role of e-learning through blended curriculum delivery models; and supporting teaching staff through an e-supported peer observation scheme.

Technological support is required by lecturers and time/remission needs to be allocated for the production of e-learning materials.

Looking at integrating mobile technologies eg podcasts, videos, screen captures (looking at JING). Project have been exploring the KASTANET project to gain more understanding of the issues involved.

Team have looked at Phoebe and LPP but neither quite fit their needs. Team are developing their own tool ( an excel spreadsheet just now) to help them map week by week activities. Team are looking at the KOLB learning model as a basis for their design practice.

Finding shared space useful for sharing resources

The team has been using the Xerte tool set to produce learning resources. Initially had a few problems as it was a desktop app, but now have local web based installation. So staff can create an upload resources onto a share space with institutional network.
