The arrival of repository systems makes it possible to consider how to link different institutional information platforms (VLE, Research and L&T repositories, Web CMS, MIS etc.) together in a coherent and user friendly-manner. The project will begin to scope, in outline, how these different systems might be connected to an open OER L&T repository to gain efficiencies in uploading materials once for multiple purposes. This integration of open OER systems into the institutional information architecture is seen as important as it will help facilitate a culture shift from deposit of resources within a closed VLE „siloed‟ environment to deposit of some resources in an open repository (ALTO), this will embed the use of the open repository into current UAL educational practice" builds on UAL ambition to have a common core of staff information - looking at Meprints (eprints customisation for staff information) -> this is a parallel development rather than a part of this project as such

Sustainability questions - considering issues around use of repositories, dual repositories approach, and other services; usability and interfaces are a key factor in the sustainability of systems at UAL
